Danny Gottlieb was the drummer in the first era of the Pat Metheny Group. His solo album Whirlwind, which came out a few years after he left Metheny, is kind of hit-n-miss. The second side of the record is better than the first, especially the track “Hold On!” featuring some great drumming and cool guitar work from John Abercrombie.
